IO-Link is an IEC 61131-9 standardized point-to-point communication protocol allowing sensors and actuators exchange data with the controller.
The use of the F39-SGIT-IL3 Intelligent Tap allows monitoring of process information (e.g., light intensity information, unstable state information, light curtain internal status information, error log) and settings of the F3SG-SR/PG Safety Light Curtain from the host controller via IO-Link.
* Settings cannot be backed up or restored via IO-Link.
IO-Link is used only for monitoring of light curtains. Light curtains can be monitored without changing the safety circuit because the safety control signal is separated from IO-Link communication.
IO-Link is an IEC 61131-9 standardized point-to-point communication protocol allowing sensors and actuators exchange data with the controller.
IO-Link allows not only typical sensor and actuator signals (ON/OFF signals) but also setting parameters and device status information to be communicated between sensors (e.g., photoelectric sensors, proximity sensors, flow sensors) or actuators and the controller (PLC). This makes it possible to build a system to monitor status and information of sensors and actuators in factories from the PLC.
For details of IO-Link, see here.
* For details of IO-Link connection of the F3SG-SR/PG Safety Light Curtain, refer to the manual.
Light curtain settings can be backed up and restored using the intelligent tap without connecting a PC at manufacturing sites.
